Last summer my lovely sister asked me if I would ever use a Kindle aka an alien book reader. I said “probably not … I like to read in the tub and wouldn’t want to ruin it if I dropped it in the water”. Plus I am one of those people who looooooooooooves the smell of real books.
Her being the lovely sister that she is … bought me one anyway.
…. and it has been in the box since last November
…. until last Saturday.
I finally got it out, set it up and downloaded a book … WOO HOO !!!
(and if I could remember the name of it and who wrote it, I would tell you)
I have decided to download “self help” books onto the Kindle and save the novels and humor books for the tub reading hour.
Look at me … all trying new things and stuff.

I am a book person, too. The first thing I do is smell a book. But, after much resistance, I let my husband buy me a kindle. I love it! I haven’t given up completely on the old fashioned books, but it is so nice to bring 5 books on vacation that fit in that little tiny thing instead of needing an extra bag just for the books.
PS I use mine in the tub. I bought insurance

I am so glad that I am not the only one who fought moving over to the dark side.
I have to admit that it will be nice to load up three or four books onto the Kindle before we leave for VEGAS … it will save some packing space for sure.
I’m a book person to but some of my lovely, lovely friends got me a kindle to keep me occupied when I was post-op. I still read my regular books, but last spring I had to take a flight out west and took the kindle. Holy hell, I fell in love with it. I don’t know how many books I’ve read on it. It’s kind of dangerous though because it is SO EASY to buy new books. You don’t have to leave the couch.
Still…give me a real book. AND a real news paper!

I fought changing over for a really really long time, but decided that the Kindle was a waste of my sister’s money if I didn’t use it. So I have my sister to blame for my moving over to the dark side.
They fit nicely in a ziploc bag for the bathtub or the beach, just saying. I love books too, but I really like my Kindle.
