The girls wanted puppies.
We said, “not yet.”
The girls wanted kittens.
We said, “um … no.”
The girls wanted hamsters.
We said, “we had hamsters … they make noise ALL NIGHT LONG.”
The girls wanted gerbils.
We said, “okay.”
It’s been nearly a year since we bought the gerbils and they are still alive … it’s a miracle, mostly because we have been overfeeding them. Emily feeds them in the morning and I somehow end up feeding them again at night, because the little boogers hide their food under their bedding and then stand at the side of the cage with their sad eyes and force me to give them treats.
Do they have Weight Watchers for rodents?
