Our kids called us “weird” for dancing in the rain. We said “thank you.”
We haven’t seen rain, real rain, around here in months … so we sat on the porch and watched it trickle down. It was glorious, fantabulous, and wonderful all at the same time. We had almost forgotten just how good rain can smell.
I even convinced Derek to dance with me in the rain, however he wouldn’t let me video his Caddyshack groundhog moves, but I didn’t care. He danced with me … in the rain.
Oh, honey!! I am DANCING!!! Happy dance, happy dance, happy dance!!! Me, my husband, and my little girl kitty just sat on the couch and watched it rain!! So good to see a good ol’ rain storm come through! I hope you’ve been unaffected by the fires that have been ripping through OK.

So far we have missed the fires in our personal life, but Big D never gets a break from them in the job area. Wildfires are scary scary things!
It really is the simple things in life … at that moment, I wouldn’t have taken a thousand bucks for the smell of rain. It was so refreshing.
A few nights ago it began to rain. My husband and I went to the backyard in the dark and if your kids think you’re weird, my kids would be horrified to know that the urge to take off my clothes overwhelmed me and I had to have that rain on my skin.
Felt wonderful.
For about a minute.
That’s when the rain stopped. God saw me. Dammit.
