A classmate of Bryce’s, a Senior girl, is moving in right next to Rachel, our oldest girl child, at the apartment complex. Evidently her parents are the most evil parents on the planet, which was a complete shock to Derek and I because we were sure we held that title, and she is moving out.
The apartment manager asked Rachel if she could show the girl her apartment as an example of what they look like, so Rachel gave her the grand tour …. and some life lessons.
The girl was asking about how much rent was, how much the bills were, and when things were due.
The other night at dinner, Rachel told us this story while shaking her head.
“Oh momma … she doesn’t have a clue. She didn’t know that you had to pay an electricity bill. She has no idea about car insurance. She doesn’t know how she is going to afford to buy food. I made her a list of all of the things that she’s going to have to pay for and she was so shocked.”
Derek and I just had to giggle.
I turned to him and said “look what we’ve done … I’m so proud!”
