A little better every day

No Reason Needed

A man called me yesterday to offer me a side gig job.  It’s something I used to do where I work when he and my boss were partners.  It isn’t difficult work, but I don’t want to do it.  There.  I said it.  I don’t want to do it.

I could have given him excuses and reasons why.  Work is stressful.  I have two side gigs already.  My evenings are pretty busy.  blah blah blah  I could have rambled on and on.  Instead I told him I would think about it.  He’s going to call me in a few days …. and I’m going to tell him “No”.

No reason needed.  No excuses will be given.

That’s part of living a more honest life.  I have to be honest with myself and I know if I did this for him it would just bring more stress into my life, would take away from my time and sooooooooooo not be worth whatever he was going to pay me.

What things do you say “Yes” to or give a million reasons why you have to say “No” to?  Wouldn’t it just be easier (and more honest) to just say “No … I don’t want to do that” or just a simple “No” with no reason given.

You can do that.  I know you can … and you will love the feeling.  I promise.
