Find Your Balance … Again

I’ve gotten better about finding my balance (most of the time).  I used to really struggle with it; trying to do way too much at one time or during a day then crashing and burning from the stress and exhaustion. 

I’ve talked before about how I now have to balance my days between productivity and rest or I end up feeling like I did too much of one or the other.  Days that are too productive make me feel worn out.  Days with too much rest make me feel sluggish and even more tired.

With the craziness of the world right now, you might be struggling with finding your balance too.  There are all sorts of people saying we should be more productive with just as many memes telling us to embrace the pajama life and not worry about washing our hair for a week.

For a while I’d been making myself To Do Lists on the weekends with a few rest like rewards at the end that I could only give myself AFTER I got the list done.  It motivated me, because I love love looooooove marking stuff off a list.

When the world went into shut down mode and continued into a bizarre type of cocooning, I got lax about those lists and I can feel it hurting my mental health.  Even though the world is telling us to slow down and relax right now, I know for my own sanity I HAVE to have a balance of productivity and rest.  I have to keep working on MY balance.  I have to find MY balance AGAIN.
