Never be sorry for being you

A few days ago I heard a story about GROWN people making fun of another GROWN person for her love of a certain type of cartoon …. and it broke my heart.

This world would be a pretty boring place if we were all alike.

Why can’t we embrace our differences?  Why can’t we learn about the things we each love?

I’m sure not everyone understands my love of swirled graniteware.  And guess what … I don’t care.  It’s mine to love.  I don’t have to defend it.  I don’t have to apologize for it.  I don’t have to explain it.

… and if you catch yourself making snide comments about anyone for the following things

  • their clothes
  • their hair
  • their job
  • their financial status
  • their relationship
  • their hobbies
  • etc, etc. and whatever

then take a good, long look at your own life and get to the root of why you want to make other people feel worse so you can feel better (the bully mentality).

… and the next time someone says something crappy about something you love about yourself simply smile and ask them why they’re so miserable … then tell them you’ll pray for them.  That’s what I do.
