I’ve discovered podcasts. Not in a dug one up in my yard and declared it to be a new and wonderful thing kind of discovery. More of a my friend asked “do you listen to podcasts and I said what’s a podcast?” kind of discovery.
Now I’m hooked.
I’m in my car driving at least 5 hours a week. That’s plenty of time to be absorbing some awesome stuff through the wonderful world of podcasts.
Plus I love the idea that we are gathering around phones and speakers like our grandparents gathered around radios to get the latest episode of something fantabulous.
If you have Bluetooth in your car, a smart phone and a few minutes then you too can make your commute time more enjoyable.
Download the Stitcher app to your phone …. Open the app
Search for your favorite channels
Click on Episodes within those channels
Add the episodes you want to listen to to your Listen Later list (click on Episodes, click on the 3 dots on the right hand side of each episode, choose Add to Listen Later) … the episodes will automatically download when you connect to WiFi (so it doesn’t use up all your data)
Connect your phone to Bluetooth in your car (BEFORE you start driving … safety first!)
Click Play
It’s that simple!
Here are some of my favorites so far:
Jen Hatmaker’s For the Love Series
The one where she talked to Emily Ley (Creating Space for Joy)
The one where she talked to Dr. Henry Cloud and John Townsend (boundaries)
The Hilarious World of Depression
The one where he talked to Jenny Lawson (The Bloggess)
Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations
The one where she talked to Gretchen Rubin (8 Rules of Happiness)
The one where she talked to Geneen Roth (Conscious Eating)
Happy Listening !
